About Galilee Development Authority
The Galilee Development Authority ("The Authority") is a governmental authority that was founded by law in 1993 and that operates under the supervision of the Negev and Galilee Development Ministry headed by the Minister Silvan Shalom.
The Authority's main roles are:
• Advancing actions to achieve economic, social and technological development of the Galilee.
• Coordinate between the different government governmental departments and the authorities and bodies
that are involved in the advancement of the Galilee.
• Initiate actions towards the settlement of the Galilee.
The Authority handles a wide range of areas: settlement, employment, infrastructure, education, tourism etc. Therefore, the Authority can promote moves towards the development of the Galilee out of an inclusive and constitutional outlook.
The Authority works alongside government offices, local authorities and other organizations that work towards the development of the Galilee like the Jewish Agency, the Jewish National Fund and others.
The Authority has a council that includes a wide spectrum of residents of the Galilee including: government representatives, heads of all the authorities in the Galilee, heads of all the authorities in the Galilee area, representatives of higher education, Industrialist Association, Craft and Industry Association, Representatives of the New General Federation of Labor, The General Federation of Agrarian workers, the Jewish Agency, the Jewish National Fund, Members of Parliament, residents of the Galilee and public representatives appointed by the Minister.
The Authority's offices are located in Bar-Lev Industrial Park next to Ahihud interjection.
