Minister Silvan Shalom launched a C.T. in the Naharia Western Galilee medical center
The most advanced treatment is now close to home. Minister Shalom: “We will continue to minimize the gaps between the center and periphery in health and other fields.”
In a celebrative ceremony that took place this month the Energy and Water Minister and the Minister for the Development of Galilee and Negev, Silvan Shalom launched with the Medical Center manager, Dr. MasadBrahom and the members of management, head of authorities and industry, medical, finance and academy personnel a room with a C.T. in the emergency room.
The new C.T. was purchased for a million dollrs with the help of the Ministry for Development of Negev and Galilee and the Ministry of Health. The innovative appliance enables a quick and location of the patient’s medical problem and an impoved picture quality for the doctor. In addition this appliance has a small amount of radiation that transfers to the patient during the check.
In the past years the Ministry for the Development of Negev and Galilee invests a lot in infrastructure and advanced medical equipment in the Naharia hospital that serves all Western Galilee. The ministry helped purchasing equipmet for the MRI institute, a C.T. and following the government decision No. 3719 from 18.9.11 a cornerstone was put for the research institute that will have a 1200 sqm. Space over two floors and will serve the doctors for research.
The Minister of Energy and Water and Development of Negev and Galilee, Silvan Shalom, said: “As part of the vision of the Ministry for Development of Negev and Galilee for minimizing the gaps between the center and periphery and in other fields, the updating and improving of the northern hospitals and establishing a research institute in the Western Galilee hospital are part of a number of steps for promoting this objective.”
